The Troll looks bored as if this question is the only one he ever hears. "You have two choices. You can either schedule an appointment for this time tomorrow with the all powerful, Gardrax the Great who will gladly inform you of the magical properties if any of any items you bring with you OR you can leave said items with me and return in two hours. At that time I will give you the items back along with a hand written list of magical properties for said items. Any magical warnings or magical activation words or phrases are included with the price."
"And the price..." Firebug begins
"The price can not be determined without first studying the items in question. Prices vary depending on the nature of the items properties. All prices are fair and NON negotiable. If it is determined that you can not afford to have the items identified then the items will either be detained until payment can be made or they may be sold to The Mighty, all knowing Gardrax the Great if you so choose." The Troll stands ramrod straight re crosses his arms over his chest and finishes with. "Have a nice day."
meanwhile Siff sees many amazing things. A Cloak of invisibility, Many enchanted bags and back packs, flying carpets in a myriad of colors, Magical restraints such as manacles and pad locks, Something called a screech bottle, gems and baubles, mirrors and weapons all claiming to have one magical ability or another. She took a close look at a high quality pair of soft leather boots that she thought would look great on her. They were labeled as 'boots of mystery' claiming to leave no tracks. Her heart sank however when she noticed the ticket price of 30,000 Timiro crowns.

Firebug shook his head as he watched Siff in the distance, like a child in a sweet shoppe, then turned back to the troll, "I will like to schedule an apointment thank. My name is Firebug."
He then turned to follow Siff on a stroll through this amazing store.

Being a Mystic, Firebug wasn't overly interested in possessing hordes of items and trinkets. However any magical devices that could better enhance his view or understanding of the cosmos would be eagerly sought after. Right now Firebug had a curiosity about how elves and other humanoids see in the darkness. It had always intrigued him to no end. There seemed to be an entire shelf of items devoted to just that. Scrolls of night vision, Amulets, rings, medallions, bracelets all had tags that stated in clear print that they would allow the wearer or user to see in the dark. The prices however were well out of Firebugs budget averaging 15,000 Timiro gold crowns. There was an excellently crafted crystalline monocle listed as an 'Eye of the Cat' that sold for 7,000 gold and the Scroll was only 5,000. Mystics really couldn't use scrolls as wizards do though so it would only be a one time use.

Firebug tapped Siff on the shoulder, "we should keep moving. I would like to talk to Moonhaven at the jail before it gets much later. We will be back tomorrow for our appointment."
Reluctanly, Siff turned and walked out with Firebug, "those really are nice boots, but I'll never be able to afford them."
"Does it matter to you that they're magical, or just that they look nice?"
"It is a nice extra I guess."
Firebug shook his head. They made their way to the jail to see if they could have another word with Moonhaven.

The Constables office was a hive of activity. A few deputies and clerks were running this way and that. Towns folk were coming and going. Lord Kursaville was no where to be seen but Constable Ritage was at a desk arguing with Halfhelm and another villager. As the two adventurers approach the unknown villager turns and stalks off ending the argument. He is a tall man in his mid thirties. He is well dressed and brushes past Siff and Firebug without a glance. He appears angry.

Firebug makes an effort to remember the man's face as he passed by. He and Siff continued toward the constable, "good morning master Halfhelm, constable Ritage," began Firebug, "I hope we're not interrupting. I was curious if Moonhaven were still in custody, would we be able to have a word with him?"
Siff spoke up as if to continue the thought, "since Nilla is home and Fox is dead, we want to find out exactly how much Moonhaven actually knew about Fox and his plan."

"I'm afraid we released him this morning. He confessed to coaxing Nilla to spy and steal from Fox. Nilla confirmed as much. With Fox dead and unable to press charges we couldn't hold him. Besides as the law understands it, Nilla is a full accomplice and would be sentenced right along side her teacher. I thought it best to just let matters dissolve. I can have deputy Murdock retrieve him for you if you'd like. I have more pressing matters at the moment so if their is anything else you'll have to go through Constable Kursaville. He's getting a statement from that foreigner named Stone over at Androsias." Ritage rumages through his desk. "Oh, and here." The seasoned Constable hands Siff a huge file bound in leather. "This is my case file on the Sminner death. "Make sure the Constable gets this please. The case is his now. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go deal with the mining dispute."

"No problem constable, we understand. Thank you for your time." Firebug said as he turned and walked back toward the door.
Siff clutched the leather file, "Sir, we'll take this to constable Kursaville immediately, thank you." She then turned and followed quickly on Firebug's heels.
Firebug and Siff headed toward Androsias' to find Kursaville.

They hadn't gotten far. Kursaville was headed this way.
"Greetings friends. I just got Stones statement. Care to add anything before I give it to Constable Ritage?" Kursaville brandishs a scroll before him. He seems in a good mood.

Firebug shook his head, "already told you everything when talked at the mine."
Siff stepped forward and handed the leather file to Kursaville, "here you go constable. Ritage said to give this to you. This is the case file on Sminner."
Firebug cocked his head to the side, "you seem to be exceptionally good mood. What's going on?"

"Oh, just happy everything turned out for the best is all. Things could have gone quite tragically you realize? I'm just glad we did so well, and now we have the Sminner case to boot. Yes, I guess I am happy. Shall we head to the cabin and have a look at this file then? It will just take a minute to drop these off." Kursaville stated while waging the scroll in the air.

Firebug and Siff turned in step and follow Kursaville. Firebug said, "Lead the way constable."
Siff smiled, "it really does seem to suit you Lord Kursaville, being a constable I mean."

"Why, thank you Priestess. I did...simular work in the Empire. Work most foul to be honest. Mere kidnappings and murder seem...lighter by comparison."
Kursaville dropped off the statements and the group headed for the cabin. "I'm to tell you all that we will be getting payed next week for our services. It's not much but should keep the cabin well supplied and in good repair. I will be using part of my share to hire on a scribe to do my paperwork for me. Droll business that. Have you heard about the mining dispute?"

Firebug looked at Siff and she at him and in unison, "No..."
Firebug continued, "is this over the gold mine that Fox had found? Who's contesting Halfhelm's ownership? After all it was dug off from his tunnels."

"Ahhh! thats just it you see. There are those who believe that Fox discovered the cavern by the cave entrance in the ceiling. He then began tunneling in search of other veins when he chanced upon Halfhelms mine. Further more certain individuals are claiming that Halfhelms original charter to mine these hills was for Iron ore alone and that he has no rights to claim gold or any other minerals found there as his. Interested parties are moving for the right to stake claims in the hills as long as they don't interfere with the Iron mining operation. As you can imagine the dwarfs are having none of that and are threatening they will defend the hills with force if need be. Its one big ugly mess right now. Infact the main reason I, ah, we were given the Sminner case is because Ritage has to take the matter to the Baron for arbitration."
