"I think that is very generous of you Mistress. Also, since I am not as experienced with herbs as you, might you please include a description or maybe a scetch of the herb in question. I would hate to return with the wrong ones." Firebug smiled then bowed his head. He then slipped a hand into his smallest pouch and fished out 150 gold coins and handed them to Androsia.

"Certainly My Lord. I'll have it ready for you upon your return." Androsia took the offered gold and retrieved the blood poison for the mystic.
"Gaul already know how to use this but, just make sure it gets into the Trolls blood. It has to break the skin in order to work. Also keep in mind it may take a short period to take hold. The effects are not instant. Be careful."
With another round of thanks in elven Firebug and Siff left the shoppe and headed for Halfhelm's smithy. "What should we use to spike the food with?" Siff mused aloud.

As they hurry to Halfhelm's smithy Firebug marvels at the vile in his hand, "After we see Halfhelm I think we need to make one more stop. I'm thinking that trader fellow that sold you all of those wonderful items when we were searching for Nilla. I'm thinking about sewing needles. Their small and will definitely draw blood if the troll were to bite into them. With a little work we should be able to insert several just under the skin of the meat. That should leave us enough to dip arrows and such."
As they approached the black smith Firebug slipped the vile into a pouch on his belt. He was amazed to see all the activity at Halfhelm's shoppe. There was actually a short line of customers extending just out the front door. Firebug mused to himself that Halfhelm would have to build an addition on to his store if business continued at this rate.

"Got yourself a nice bit of business here aye Master Halhhelm?" Siff bantered pleasantly when the dwarf smith ushered them inside away from the crowd.
"Who? Them folk? Bah! Bunch of good for nothin' nobodies trying to mine for gold on my Mountain!" Halfhelm turned to Siff and Firebug, shaking a finger at them for emphasis. "I'm a weapon smith for..." The upset dwarf curbed his tongue when he remembered he was talking to a Priestess of Light. "Pardon me but, what I mean to say is that most of them folk is just buying pick axes and shovels and such. Maybe a dagger or occasional mace for self defense. Don't get me wrong. I make tools per request when towns folk need 'em and I'll shoe a horse thats gone and thrown its old one but, but...well these humans don't even know the first thing about mining for gold! They are wastin' my time!"
The group entered the kitchen that still retained the secret entrance to the soon to be sewer system. Halfhelm grabbed a pewter bowl and some hot chowder while continuing to grumble in traditional dwarf fashion. "Why the Baron had to go and allow anyone to mine my mountain just baffles me. It will be trouble, mark me, trouble." The dwarfs rant stopped as abruptly as it started when he started shoveling the chowder into his mouth.
"Did I mention my family is coming?" he asked almost pleasantly with all sign of the outburst gone.

Firebug shot a glance to Siff then looked back to Halfhelm, "your family, really. No you hadn't mentioned that before. So are they coming to help with the forge or the mine?" Firebug hoped in his heart that it was one of those. If his family were fighters or were here to defend his mines by force, well things were about to turn from bad to worse.
"Well after this last spot of trouble it will be nice to have some more folks in town not looking to start any trouble. Anyway, speaking of your mines, that brings me to why we have come to see you."
Lady Siff leaned in to keep her voice low, "Master Halfhelm you may have heard that everyone caught that had been involved in the smuggling have been sentenced to death. But they have not been interrogated so we don't know the full scope of this smuggling ring."
Firebug nodded in agreement, then explained about the demon that they had killed. "There are forces at work here, powerful forces. If you recall there was a troll that escaped into you mine. He is well armed and roaming free but is probably lost. I believe that if we were to capture him, we should be able to question him before turning him into the authorities. For a reward I'm sure"
"We would not dare approach you mines without your promission Master Halfhelm. Would you permit us access and perhaps any available bodies that you might be able to spare?" Lady Siff continued to softly as she gave a respectful bow to Halfhelm.

"Well, your always welcome in my mine. I can't be of any help though I'm afraid. With all these stake claimers in town and with me losing so many Jaegers in that smugglers mess I just can't spare anyone. I planned on hunting that Troll down myself once the rest of my clan arrived. You sure would be doing me a favor if you rounded him up for me. Yes sir the whole clans comin'. Over four hundred dwarfs. We're gonna make a home of that mine. Tradition you know. All Dwarf Holds start out as mines. Once they're carved out enough a clan will move in and start building a real settlement. I'm mighty proud the clan considers my mine a suitable site for a hold. Karak-Helmhold. What do you think?"

"Karak-Helmhold..., it does have a nice ring to it. We will do our best to rid you future home of the troll. Due to the dangers I would ask that you send word to your miners to avoid the tunnels until the troll is gone. They would serve you no use to have dwarves eaten by this lost troll." Firebug bowed his head slightly to Halfhelm.

Halfhelm wrote a missive on some parchment with orders to allow the group into the mine and finished it with a wax seal.
"Good luck to you Mystic, Lady. Let me know how it goes eh?"

Firebug accepts the scroll then both he and Siff take turns shaking hands with Halfhelm, who knows this might be the last time they meet.
"And to you my friend," said Firebug.
"And to your clan Master Halfhelm," added Siff.
For the first time the gravity of their next undertaking becomes appearant. They moved slowly out of the smithy and headed toward Jhessil's.

"We don't need that much bloody chain you stupid, pig headed greenskin!"
was what Siff and Firebug heard upon entering Jhessil's trade store.
"We need much chain. You catch Troll before? Gaul think not!" Gaul screamed back at Reeks as he stared down at the dwarf.
A huge spindle of massive chain layout between the two and Jhessil stood off to one side watching the argument. Noticing the two companions enter, the shop keeper walked over. "Hello again. I just got this chain in earlier today. Do you like it?" The chain was inches thick and each link was bigger then an average persons closed fist.

"Good day to you Jhessil. Isn't that chain a little.., heavy?" Firebug asked as he watched Reeks and Gaul arguing.
Turning back to see Jhessil Firebug continued, "Would you by chance have sewing needles? I'm afraid I'll need quite a few if you do."

Oh, yes. I'm the town Cobbler (tailor) right now as well as trade goodsman. I don't do fancy work but...oh yes needles. I always have plenty in stock. A single crown buys you a six. Interested?"

"Very interested sir." Firebug smiled and handed him 10 crowns. "It's going to be a very busy day."

"Excellent. I'll go get them. Oh and what was that about the chain?" Jhessil inquired as he walked away.
"He thought it was a touch heavy." Siff replied.
"Oh yes, well it's from a ship you see. Some sort of salvage operation further south. Anyway I figured someone could use it and wouldn't you know it. I have interested customers the very same day. A half gold a link is all I'm asking. I can cut it to any length you wish. Let me get those needles for you." Jhessil stepped into his supply room.
"Damn you, you dirt licking, bug eating idiot. All we need is enough for the trolls wrists and ankles!" Reeks was bellowing.
"Nooooo, you stupid. AND you cheat at cards! We need enough to wrap him up good." Gaul continued.
Reeks huffed and turned to Firebug. "Talk some sense into him Mystic or I swear I'll...I'll...bwwwooorrr." he stormed out of the Store in a huff muttering the whole way. "Damn orc. Cheat..i'm no cheat. He's the cheat.
Gaul was grinning from ear to ear.

"Gaul, how are you boys going to carry all of that chain? Have you thought about that? What about securiing the chain? Have you looked at locks yet?" Firebug couldn't resist the urge to smile. Reeks and Gaul get along so well, it's actually funny that Reeks lets Gaul get to him like this. He figured that he should probably keep an eye on these two when (if) they get back from troll hunting. He bet that he would be surprised about the mischeif that these two were getting into together.
