Awesome movie! Loved 95% of it. Couple issues including too much cussing and some other stuff I'll mention in the spoiler below. I rarely say this, but Transformers 2 was neither better or worse then #1. It was on par all the way.
SPOILER: (Read only if you want to know more or have seen it)
I loved the over all plot. I liked that Star Scream had a bigger part. Sound Wave was fantastic! As was Jet Fire and Devastator. As always the fight scenes are a little to up-close and very hard to actually see whats going on. Do to the renditioning of the robots their forms are...sketchy? Undefined? So a brawl just looks like a lot of tumbling junk. One thing I hated was the Female 'Human looking' decepticon. That was so not cool and out of bounds for the Transformer theme. It was to Terminator like. Now they can be anyone. That sucks. Next thing I didn't like was again, the cussing. Way to much. I think everyone swore except for the 2 Leads. The mother was the worst. Her part in this movie was extended, but man she swore a lot IMO. The twins were ok as comic relief, but they were a bit to urban for me. Megan Fox was as hot as ever and the little remote control truck bot was a nice touch though he drops out of the movie without any indication what happened to him. A dropped scene most likely. I wasn't hip on Megatron having a Master, but it worked well enough. Over all a good action flick. Oh and don't wait for the credits. Nothing to see at the end.
End Spoiler

I did not like this movie. The first was done much better and i felt this movie was a waste. Beyond the cussing, I was not happy with the sex and the drugs either. I just don't get it. PG-13 is really pushing it now a days. I mean I was appalled by Yes Man and the scene where he had to say yes to his elderly neighbor. PG-13 my butt. Listen, Transformers is based off a bunch of toys. These are toys that are for 4-11 year old boys and most of the scenes in this PG-13 movie are not appropriate for these boys. What, we can't make a cool Transformers movie without all this crap? I used to love the cartoon, why can't we make a movie I won't feel embarrassed to take my boys to. Now, I must admit, I missed the last probably 30 minutes of the movie. I had an incredible toothache which got me sent to the ER, but after talking over what I did see with my wife, we determined that this movie was an insult to our intelligence and my wife loves the Transformers. I would say, save it for a $1 rental.

well, I loved the entire movie
on your point homeskillet, you should hear the kids on xbox live, I play againts kids that cant be older than 8 and they're saying things that I would never say in public, and thats pretty much what our life is now, our 6 years olds have full knowlegde of sex and drugs and things like that
so hollywood is looking for the widest possible audience, and thats why its PG-13, cuz 90% of 13 year olds have the same mentality as a 20 year old
another thing is that I think theres only 4 ratings for movies G, PG, PG-13, and R the other ratings like T and M or made for video games
so R would be way too high for that kinda movie, plus it would limit you to the audience that would have less interest in it, so they cut it to PG-13

Well I agree it ain't for kids. It's an action film. If the robots were human and being ripped apart like they were it would have been 'R' rated for blood everywhere. I didn't care for the mom's brownie episode or the leg and dog humping scenes either. HS if you missed the last half hour you missed the best parts. Action all the way with heroics for all. Self sacrifice and Destiny as well.
Oh and as for ratings, there is also NC-17.

Are we just complacent stooges that follow the crowd. The other kids are doing it, so it must be cool. I don't believe in censorship or anything, but why can't there be a good story out there that kids and adults can enjoy, without embarrassment. I don't want to explain to my sons, how I know that Marijuana Brownies would never have done that to a woman. I don't want my 4 year old agreeing that he would hump Megan Fox's leg like the little Deceptacon turncoat. GM mentioned the beauty of Transformers. You can still get pretty violent, because they are machines and can be rebuilt. No on has to die. They are still cars that turn into robots, a boy's dream of cool, but why'd we have to take the boy out of the equation. If they wanted to appeal to the adults who used play with the original toys, then they should have made it more like the originals. No they planned on getting a new market with today's boys and decided to appeal to the adults with money. Oh no, Transformers the movie is not for you kids, watch Transformers: Animated for that. Bullshit! Here we are swallowing it up. You know what, I am not normally like this, but this movie has made me rethink how I watch movies with my kids. Shit, Marvel movies are not always appropriate. Here's the deal, if you don't care about this, that's cool, but I don't want to give the message to Hollywood, that I am cool with this. I don't want Hasboro to think this is the way to market their toys. You know they are making movies about their toys, right? I am probably going to pass on GI Joe because of this. I know that there are many kids who cuss and know more about sex at the ages of 4-6, but I don't think that is right. Maybe I watched too many episodes of Little House on the Prairie when I was a kid or hung out with my grandparents too often, but it wasn't like that for me and when I was thrown into the "world" I felt I forever lost a piece of me. It was forcibly removed and it was my innocence. I once told my mother that she could never take my imagination. She didn't have to, life did. Never mind, I am not trying to convince anyone of anything, just voicing my feelings and again, like Star Wars, here is another cool thing from my youth that is dead.

Damn HS. Get on that Soap Box! ;D Seriously I agree with you. I loved the movie as an adult, but everyone I talked to who has kids either won't take them or wished they had not. I said this somewhere on another site as well. This is a dumb way to market toys. I have 2 nephews who loved the first movie and collected all the transformer toys from it. I'm talking about the really expensive ones that partially transform on their own when you touch certain areas. Anyway Their parents won't take them to see #2. That is sad for so many reasons and guess what? No more toy buying.

didnt mean to set you off homeskill, I just meant thats the way things are today and there not much we can do to change it and hollywood only sees dollar signs
and since you brought that up GM, I agree it should have been rated NC-17
all in all though, we went, we watched it, we had our opinions, so what now? 1 thing only, make a game about it and make it better! ;D
thats one thing we have over most other people, we all hove opinions on how they could have improved on movies/books/games but people just have it as wishful thinking, but we can actually make something out of it and live it out (sorta)
get where Im coming from?

I liked the first one and the approach to the series. IT was a good starter to a series. ANd yeah it's not your kid transformers. I hope they do a Robotech movie with that style..Great effects in it.

Robotech is bad ass. I'd watch anything they do with that series.
