Silverbeard, son of Stoneforge
Mountain Dwarf, Male
4'6" tall, Deep brown hair with streaks of white in his beard.
50 years old, brown eyes
Story: Silverbeard is the youngest of 12 children. His 10 brothers eagerly followed in their father’s foot steps and relentlessly honed their smithing skills. Their father Stoneforge is a legendary blacksmith in the realm and after his retirement from the craft has gone on to teach only his children the extent of his skills and had gone on to develop his own design for a blacksmith’s forge and his forges are something of a status symbol for the higher quality smiths. While 8 of his brothers have gone on to become recognized blacksmiths in their own rights, 2 have become goldsmiths, and his sister has studied with their father to design and build better quality forges.
To the contrast of his family’s background, Silverbeard never showed any interest in mining, smithing, or even forge building. He wanted to be a lawman, but his father protested. A soldier surely, there is honor in being a soldier but a constable was a cowardly “human” occupation. For a decade Silverbeard studied in secret with an elderly dwarf that lived just outside of the village who was rumored to have been a bounty hunter. All the while Silverbeard worked in his family’s blacksmith shoppe and was miserable as was his family since they were always tripping over him and finally had to move him to the most menial of chores, loading wood into forge, just to keep him out of the way.
One day while away on a project, his father and sister were attacked. His sister had been knocked out and suffered some brain damage and is still has the occasional seizure. Father was the lucky one, after being dragged from the wagon and savagely beaten; he was left for dead as a wondering group of adventures passed by and startled the bandits who fled back into the woods. The adventures brought his father and sister back to the village and that was when Silverbeard discovered that some of these men were identified by the adventurers as being outlaws and had bounties on their heads.
The old bounty hunter increased the intensity of Silverbeard’s training per his request. He finally said his goodbyes to the family when he also revealed his secret training with the old bounty hunter and then set off to pursue a life of bringing criminals to justice.
