The caravan saw little traffic that day and once again ended the days journey at a Fort. Fort Ibi was a smallish stone fort complete with moat. Aiko made the structure to around four hundred years old. Just outside the walls of the Fort proper was a town brimming with taverns, shops, Inns, boarding houses, smiths and bustling with traveling merchants. The housing was a mixture of wood buildings and shabby clay huts.
The evening was a surprise as well as the local Fort guard agreed to watch the wagons along with the Garrotten soldiers. The Mercenaries had the night off and could roam as they saw fit. Though the Captain was adiment that if anyone ended up in trouble or a stockade he would dock 3 days pay.
Aiko, Sull, Tull, Briggs and Mason were all collecting their belongings out of the wagon when the three other mercs in the caravan walked up.
"We're headed into town for some drinks and maybe see if we can find a game to wager on. Any of you want to join us? Par-Nax asked in his deep booming voice.

Stone still in thought about the information Sull had brought him. He was grabbing his belongings, but when Par-Nax came by, he was too deep in thought to hear. Stone begins to walk dreamily away toward wherever he was to sleep.

Sull and Briggs jumped at the chance to go into town and voiced that they would go. Tull notices Aiko heading off and turns to Mason. "Whats up with Stone? It's not like him to ignore people." the halfling said worriedly.
"I'm not sure." Mason replied staring after Stone who was now thirty yards or so away. "Lets go find out." The ranger turns to Par-Nax and the rest. "You all go ahead and have fun. We're going to stay here."
"You sure Mason? We can stay if you like." Briggs offered though his tone told another story.
"We will?" Sull inquired sullenly.
"No, no. Go ahead with them. Towns aren't really my thing anyway. We'll be fine." Mason assured.
"Yeah don't mind us. I need some sleep anyway after driving that cart all day." Tull added.
With that settled, the mercs all said there farewells leaving Mason and Tull to jog and catch up with Aiko.
"Hey Stone. What's going on in that head of yours?" Mason inquired when they caught up to him.

" Last night," Stone began," Our brother Sull, confessed to me. He had looked inside one of our crates. Inside this crate, marked "pikes," he saw rocks. Before, we spoke about this caravan. Sull asked me why do we gather weapons so far, but the captain answered, remember? Halfhelm makes the best weapons, but why would we need Halfhelm rocks? You can find rocks anywhere. I am wondering how many rocks we are guarding and why are they in "pikes" crates. It is hard for me to guard something based on lies."

"Well lets go find out how many crates of rocks there are." Tull stated obviously.
"Hmm. Well we can't just go open them up. Not with them being guarded by the locals." Mason added.

"Right," Stone agreed," I don't know what we can do, but something is not right with here." Stones is getting a little frustrated with the situation. He doesn't understand why they would need stones from Garrotten and then why would they need to lie about it?

"Well I could check a couple crates." Tull offered matter of factualy.
Mason looked at the hobbit. "How exactly?"
"You give me a diversion of some kind and I'll sneak over there and look." he stated as if it was obvious.
Mason looked doubtful. "Ahh, Stone? Am I talking to Tull or Sull? We only have one thief do we not?"
Tull looked put out by Masons lack of confidence. "I'm a hobbit! We're born to hide. Look at these feet." He raised a hairy shoeless foot for emphasis. "I can do it. Just distract the guards."

Stone approaches from the south, where the carts are being guarded. He stops a good 15' away from them and finds a nice hiding spot. The guards a sitting in the middle of the carts having a conversation. Stone spots a good hiding spot for Tull 5' to the east of the carts. There are a group of crates stacked up at the backside of a building, probably a kitchen. The door to this building is a good 3' to the south from there, giving Tull enough time to hide if anyone decides to bring some more crates out. Stone sends Tull to this hiding place and Tull finds that these are emptied food crates. Once Tull is in place he gives Stone "the sign."
Stone begins his breathing and movement. Using the Lu Shi Kata Stone begins to focus on some small rocks about 10' over to the west of the carts, by another building. He imbues these pebbles with magic and sends them over to the guards, pelting them and anything near them.

The guards spook and panic when the stones start flying. The bravest of the bunch holds up his shield and begins advancing toward the direction the stones and pebbles are coming from. Two others take cover. One dives under a cart laying prone while the other jumps into another cart for protection. The forth guard abandons his post and heads for the main keep.
