Stone smiles. He is blessed to have such good comrades. They are brothers in arms. Suddenly, Stone is overcome with surprise. Where is Briggs? Stone looks about for his friend. I hope he is alright.

Blan whom had been standing off to the side to let the mercs converse stepped forward when it was obvious a decision had been reached.
"If all is in order we leave in an hour on foot. Best get packed up. I'll meet you at the northern gate." He saluted and bid farewell to Stone then turned to go prepare.
Sull scratched his head in thought. "Sull get Briggs out of bed. He have tough night." Sull and Par-nax both chuckled at some untold joke or story.
"We'll meet you at the gate then my friends." Par-nax waved as he and the longbowman left as well.
The dwarf stood there with Aiko and his companions. Hefting his axe over his shoulder he barked out with a shrug. "Packed."

Aiko smiles. Yes, he too was ready for travel, always carrying his items with him at almost all times. " Thank you for joining us brother. This will be a good journey. I can feel it." He smiles again.

Everyone met at the gate as planned with Sull and Briggs bringing up the rear. Briggs looked haggard but, he was walking in a straight line so that was good enough for the Earth Master.
"Alright people. Listen up. I'm in charge." Blan commanded in a firm, yet even toned voice. "It's just a simple sixty mile walk cross country to Fort Calda. It's all grass lands so we should make good time." Blan looked pointedly at the halfling and dwarfs before continuing. "I'm guessing five miles an hour at a brisk pace with short rest stops. Thats twelve hours. We'll be there by night fall. The quicker we get there the better. Agreed? Any questions before we head out?"

Blan's 'brisk' pace he had set was grueling. By the first rest period Aiko's feet were killing him. Par-Nax and Leknora looked winded while poor Tull looked exhausted and Briggs looked absolutely retched. Only the dwarfs with their renowned stamina and Mason seemed unaffected by the forced march Blan enforced. The ten minute rest for food and drink hardly seemed enough. Aiko knew he could endure it but, he worried about some of his brothers.

Aiko looked about nervously. He was very concerned. He walks over to Blan and bows. " Corporal Blan, this pace is too much for everyone. I am afraid if something may happen we will all be too tired to face it. May we calm the pace a bit more reasonably?" Stone smiles hoping the Corporal will not be offended.

Blan looks over Aiko's shoulder at the group and then shakes his head in disgust. "Mercs. Can't even keep a decent pace. Fine. We'll slow down. Let's get one thing straight Earth Master."
The soldier spat Stones title out like it was a foul word.
"You embarrassed my squad back there for no good reason as far as I can tell. Yeah, you complimented me in front of the Captain but, that didn't help the rest of them. Some are even being reprimanded for 'cowardice' in the line of duty. Like any of us have training in dealing with magic! Just follow orders and don't use any magic without informing me first. Got it?"
The rest of the group had gone quiet while listening to the conversation.

Stone stands there in shock to see this man spit such venom at him. It saddens him. What he did was necessary to uncover the lie. It was not his fault he was confused where the deception was coming from. Stone's face falls to a frown, he bows and says," As you wish Corporal." Stone moves to the back of the group and meditates on what just transpired.
