Stone bowed and smiled," These orcs were found tied up," Stone answered, which sort encompassed all three questions," I am Stone, Earthmaster and master dwarf, as you are the last of us mercenaries the commander has given you the chance to earn more. We need to keep these orcs from slowing us down on our way to Fort Alanda. You can watch over one and earn whatever reward that can be had once there. So what say you?" Stone smiles.

The dwarf puts one hand on the side of the wagon and vaults off to land in front of Stone and the orc. Twisting his neck to the side Stone hears an audible crack. The merc then grabs a fist full of the orcs grimy tunic and throws him bodily into the wagon bed. The orc captive yells in pain as he falls in a heap among the boxes and crates. The dwarven warrior nods at Stone and scrambles back into the wagon bed with the orc. Sitting down upon a crate the dwarf lays the head of his axe on the orcs chest. The orc just stares at it with beady, little eyes and remains very still.

Stone smile and takes his orc back to his cart.

"Bloody hell man. What are we gonna do with that orc. He smells awful!" Briggs exclaimed loudly when Stone escorted the orc into the wagon.

" You guys are going to watch him," Stone smiles," Mason came across 3 orcs tied up. We are going to watch this one and get any reward they may have for it at Fort Alanda." Stone puts the orc in the back of the cart with Sull and Briggs. Stone waits until one of the guys grabs the rope. Next Stone climbs up to his next to Tull. After making sure the orc is secure and the boys got him in their control. Stone signals the commander to move on.

Briggs kept grumbling but at the word 'reward' became much more agreeable. Sull took the orcs rope and folded his arms around it. He gave the orc the most intimidating stare he could muster. Aiko thought Sull looked constipated.
The wagons started to move out again. "What makes you think there will be a reward for these orcs Stone? Are they runaway slaves?" Tull asked with curiousity.

Stone shrugged," The Commander said there would be."

"I guess we'll see soon enough. The fort should only be a few hours away or so." Tull surmised.
Two hours later the caravan passed a small group of people headed south as well. The group was lead by a knightly looking elf holding the reins of a riding horse that carried a fair lady. The rest of the group was a motley bunch including another elf, this one a female, a dwarven priest, a monk and a couple other men as well. Nothing else happened on the journey until they reached Fort Alanda.
The fort was a small stone keep surrounded by a wooden palisade and earthen moat. A shanty town had sprung up within the walls as well. There was an Inn, stable, blacksmith, a small general store and herb shop. The wagon train came to a halt just outside the gates but was soon let in. Tull pulled his wagon next to wagon 4 and parked just outside the stables. Most of the soldiers were dispersing but at least one man remained in each wagon. The mounted soldier that recruited Stone and the others earlier that day rode up alongside. You, Earthmaster. The captain wishes you to accompany him. Your squad is still charged with protecting your wagon but may otherwise move about freely within the forts walls. We will most likely spend the night within the walls but be prepared for a hasty departure if things change." The man began to ride further down the line but turned back after only a moment. "Oh, and EarthMaster. Please take your orc with you."

" Tull," Stone began," Stay with cart. I'll take care of business and when I return you can wander this Fort.( Looking at Briggs and Sull) You men go and check this place out. Listen for any stories about the problems so we know what to do." Stone smiles, pats Tull's back, gathers his orc and goes to meet the Commander.

Aiko soon found himself in the company of the Leader of the Caravan, Captain Mohay, as well as the fellow rider whom Stone now discovered was Mohay's aide de camp, Depa. Also in the small group was the tattooed dwarf and the ebony warrior. Both Mercs held an orc on a short tethered leash of rope as did Stone. Rounding out the group was Sergeant at Arms Ki-Adi-Mundi of the foot soldiers and to Aiko's pleasant surprise Mason.
With long, strides the burly Captain Mohay talked to his newly appointed entourages over his shoulder. "First we'll get rid of these damnable orc bandits at the Barracks. Next we'll pay visit to the Fort Commander and swap reports and discuss the next leg of our journey. After that we'll get settled in for the night. We leave one hour before sun up. Any questions?" he barked in a voice used to giving commands.

" No, Commander," Stone bowed.

No one else spoke up either. Aiko noticed.
The group soon reached the barracks. They were met by a blond bearded dwarf who's uniform Aiko observed bore the same markings of rank as did Ki-Adi-Mundi's. The situation concerning the orcs was quickly laid out for the dwarfen soldier. With a few quick, yet short strides the dwarf inspected the orcs tattoo like brands. "Aye they be FireBrand's alright. Bring them in." with that he turned on his booted heel and entered the barracks proper.
"Take care of this Sergeant and then find us at the Keep." Captain Mohay barked. "Make sure these men get proper payment."
"Aye Sir." Mundi snapped back. As the Captain and the others left.
Mundi lead the remaining Orc toting mercenaries inside to find the blond dwarf shuffling through papers on a short desk.
"Well they don't match the descriptions of any of FireBrands known orc members so they be worth 20 crowns each."
The giant of a man Par-Nax stepped forward. "We'll be lookin at those papers if you don't mind, just to be sure."
The dwarf shrugged. "Suit yourself lad. It's 20 gold either way." he sat patiently while Par-Nax handed the charcoal sketches of bandits around to his companions.
Stones pile of papers included a halfling, FireBrand himself, many humans and two orcs. Neither of which looked even vaguely like the three captives before him. The other mercenaries had no luck as well and it was agreed that 20 crowns was fair.
Leaving the Barracks with coin in hand the group started to make their way to the Keep.
"You lucky bastards get 20 crowns each for keeping an eye on some miserable orcs for a few hours. I don't even get payed till we get back to Garrotten. It's a crime it is." the middle aged Ki-Adi-Mundi said jovially. He seemed to really loosen up when the captain wasn't around.

Stone hands Ki-Adi-Mundi a Gold Crown," Thank you for guiding us to our locations," Stone says with a smile," You are very good at showing us around. Now please show us to the Fort Commander." Stone knows that a Gold Crown is not much, but maybe it will by the soldier a drink.

Mundi just stares at the coin before puting it away in his belt purse. "Thanks Mate. You're alright. If things go badly, you can count on my sword and crossbow, make no mistake."
Mundi escorts the group straight to the forts Keep. Its an ugly, squat, single story, blocky, stone structure with a squat round tower on one corner barely tall enough to look over the outer walls. Two gaurds man the tower and another at the Keeps massive oak door. Aiko gets a nagging feeling about the structure by just looking at it.
"Sergeant at Arms Ki-Adi-Mundi reporting to see the Fort Captain per orders." Mundi explained to the gaurd in a crisp voice of command. The gaurd promptly began opening the doors. "Your expected Sir."

Stones bows at both guards and thanks them with a smile as the group wanders inside. Stone places a hand on Ki-Adi-Mundi and whispers," Don't worry my friend, all will be well. We fight as one." Stone smiles and at whoever would be waiting.
