The Timiro Merchant Guild-Private Guard or TMG-PG or 'Red Bears' as most call them are a private militia owned, run and equipped by the Timiro Merchant Guild. Founded over 200 years ago, these brave men and women are payed good gold crowns to protect mercantile assets. Any Guild member may 'hire' a single private guardsman or group of guards to escort goods from one location to any given destination. They may also be hired (again only by guild members) to reclaim stolen assets as well as to protect goods at a stationary location until they are ready for shipping. Lastly they are used by some Merchants as body guards. Whatever the job, Red Bear members are known for getting it done.
The nick name 'Red Bears' derived from the TMG-PG crest. A bright Red, side profile of a Grizzly Bear emblazoned on shields, sir coats and equipment.
Game Notes: An average Red Bear Guardsmen is a Men at Arms OCC ranging from 3-6 level. Usually Knights, Soldiers, Mercenaries, Longbowmen and Rangers. Some 'other' occs such as men of magic or Psychics have been known to join the Red Bears ranks but are rare.
A Red Bears pay is determined by duration of Job, Job Type, Level of Danger expected, merchandise involved and destination. Standard pay can be a flat rate or a % of the merchandise value. *Note, any travels outside the Timiro Kingdom are likely to cost DOUBLE the normal fees. All prices are determined by the Guild Hall and NOT the Private Guard.
All members of the Private Guard will recieve a one time allowance of 800 Timiro Crowns in order to outfit themselves. All purchased equipment must have the Red Bear crest embossed/stamped/pressed/painted or otherwise pictured on it. To maintain Active Guard status a member must partake in a minimum of 1 job per season (3 months) OR 1 job per year lasting a minimum of three months. Active Guards must pay an annual fee of 100 Timiro Crowns Begining at the end of the first year. A Guard may find jobs at any Timiro Guild Hall or generate business themselves. If outside bussiness is generated the job must be registered as soon as possible at a Guild Hall. Failure to do so will be met with swift punishment and fines. Any member unable to meet the 'active' requirements will be logged as 'inactive'. All possessions with the 'Red Bear' crest MUST be turned in as soon as possible or the inactive member will be fined and his equippment siezed.
