Ok, From the beginning we have had issues with reading comprehension. In order to respond to a post we must all understand what we are reading. Agreed? I am writing this to attempt to deflect anyone from getting upset at someone else's posts. We all know that reading something and understanding EXACTLY what is meant is difficult because the writer may not be able to invoke emotions and or may have trouble conveying what he wants to say in words. Things can and WILL be misread or misunderstood. I myself have wrote posts in complete error because I thought I understood what a player typed.
If a player reads a post that they think is either offensive, wrote in error or just way off from what just happened in a story line PLEASE lets try and straighten it out before a response is posted. I have learned that it is usually (but not always) easy for others to figure out if I misread one of their posts and responded in error or vice versa. If I read a post and think to myself (damn that person must have misread what I said) I will PM you and let you know unless I think I can work around it as I have MANY times in the past. I would ask that everyone do the same for each other as well. Please note I am not writing this in response to any post in particular. I just have a gut feeling that things MAY snowball out of control if I don't make some kind of effort soon. So I don't want to see or hear about players getting upset at each others posts. PM THEM and see if it was a simple comprehension problem and fix it. If that fails then come to me. I can guarantee that any issues on this board will all be miscommunication related. If we all keep that in mind as well as that Posts are from a characters pint of view and not a players point of view we will all continue to have fun and enjoy the games.
So the next time you read someones post 9including mine) and your first response is What the f**k PM that poster BEFORE you respond to the post.
Thanks, and I hope this is looked upon as a helpful tool and not some rant from the GM. I am concerned not upset.
