Wow I think its cool that SF and HomeSkillet want to join up for a spell. Thats awsome... Uhh, how? For the life of me I can't think of a good reason HomeSkillet's character and party would get involved with either the Kidknapping or the smuggling ring. I can't see Firebug approaching any of them for any reason. I need help. Bump into eachother somehow? Have some fortune teller tell someone its fate? Have Homeskillet ask the Constable for work and get assigned to the kidknapping case? I'm just not happy with my brainstorm. Maybe you two can come up with something I'm overlooking.

Homeskillet could be in castle for some unrelated purpose and bump into the other half of my group exploring the smuggling ring. Join forces with them and work it from the inside out. While the other half works the ring from the outside or even begins to investigate the kidnapping. Maybe if Firebug can prove himself to the constable and gains his trust, they can bring him in on the smuggling and tie it all together.
Just a thought.

Or Maybe Aiko can pull a Cain from Kung Fu. Some of Firebrand's men come into town to hook up with the Smuggler's Ring and see Stone. They are not happy with Stone so they attack him, revenge for what he did to their comrades. The Constable and his men of course respond to this and arrest those alive( hopefully us) for questioning. Stone, who doesn't like Firebrand's men, will explain his dislike of them to the constable and will offer any assistance to help foil any of Firebrand's plans. So here the constable can guide us as he wills.

Not bad, but Aiko has no business in the castle at this time. Where else could they 'Bump' into each other?

Hmmm....I may have it. Tull the halfling is the only local boy in both groups except maybe Mason but he was never the city type.
Tull just got back into town and is currently having a meal with his friends. He could either
A. Found out about Sminners Murder and wish to find out more about it. They could have been casual aquaintances.
B. He knows the Kidnapped girl and has heard that the Constable hasn't done much yet. This gets Homeskillets group to go to the constable who then directs them to Lord Kursaville.
Thoughts?

Stone likes Tull a lot and will do anything to help him. Stone has a lot of respect for the brave hobbit.

I think if you do it that way, do the kidnapping. He has already asked for help. The murder he had said that he had to do that one himself. Tull may have known Sminner as well and that would make it more important for him at least that we find who is taking all these weapons.

Agreed but that would just get you investigating it unofficially and still not joined up with SF's group. I think I'll go with option B. Its direct and will get you two together in a quick, believable way.
