I am going to assume that I should tell the dwarf "selling" that way I somehow am implying that I have something to offer, whether it be my services or objects or information of a sort. but at the same time I don't want to say the wrong thing and get looked at as any regular anybody or worse make enemies out of the very people that I am suppose to try to be in league with. Even though, no matter what, everybody knows it's every men or woman for himself.

Don't worry about saying the wrong thing. I won't chop your head off for it.  Now here is how this works. You and I will create a story for Lilien by 'posting' back and forth to eachother. I do my best to make my posts open ended so you have something to work with or towards. In other words I try very hard to make sure you never finish reading my posts with the feeling "What do I do now?" If you wish to try and do something but your not sure how or you think it would require a dice roll then state what is on your mind here in the ooc (like you just did). However if it is just communication with an NPC then feel free to post what Lilien is saying or doing. I also don't mind if you speak for NPC's as long as it is not a major decision and it helps the story move along. That takes a little practice. I recommend picking another PC's adventure and skim through a page to see what I mean. I give a lot of freedom to Players in posting and I have never asked anyone to 'repost' or change a post. If you miss something or make a mistake, I'll work around it. You won't even know you made the error. Trust me.  But I'm rambling. ok so you want to say 'sell' but you are scared you are making the wrong choice and are asking me the Game Master to help. Tell you what. I'll post for you this time. I'll do that from time to time anyway. I want you to post a response to this next post ok? Have fun! Relax!  |

ok, so this dwarf doesn't know you and you are obviously trying to find the thieves Guild but you were smart enough not to actually say the words. Beating around the bush will save lives in your line of work. Good job. Now I usually don't make players roll a bunch of charm and Impress rolls because I prefer to make my own decision on the players wording. However as a thief this is sort of one of your major strengths so it makes sense to roll more often. So your base Charm and impress % is 35% plus a 10% for his low MA score (see home rules forum) PLUS a 10% bonus for your nice word choices. (GM prerogative) Giving you a grand total of 55% chance to charm the pants of this old dwarf. If you have dice (and I know you do) feel free to roll and post the result here . If you can't find your dice or don't have them right now let me know and I will take care of it. |

Since I don't need to be afraid to post my first roll now, because it turns out low is good you said? right? I rolled a 25% for the Charm and Impress.

wow, you were not kiding about changing the Avatar a lot. ok... Your next story post is up. Always read the story post first and then the ooc. You need to roll for underground sense of direction. You have a skill of 40%. post it here. This is one of those points where I'll probably repond next in the story thread unless you know what you want to do or say. Your call. |

I missed the underground direction with a 42%... I think I like this Avatar the best the sparkle in the blue eye represents Lilien's free spirit. So it'll be a while before I search for a new one.

If there are any traps around this ladder you left me at I didn't find them because I rolled a 63%. I need to find my dwarf ruin looking colored dice, those ones always rolled for me the way my clear ones used to.... hehehehehe

The part 'I' like, is that I have had this underworld infrastructure of settings and characters set up way back when I started the site but, all the current players have been on the 'good' side of the law and I have not had a chance till now to expose it. I had just about given up so I had started the adventures of Pith and Jun in the Drunken Griffin board as a way to utilize all my hard work and now I have a not so honest thief to play with. |
