He's just standing there talking. If you want to swing at him you get to go first. He's not even in a defensive position.

Well Initiative, for everyone, right? They all know I am calling the Troll out to fight him, maybe they want to cut in? If I get to go do you want me to use the 7?

I don't see this coming to blows unless you swing first so you will not need an initiative roll. Now if you do swing then everyone else will need to roll to see who reacts first.

Well of course I am swinging. My last post was Barbarius calling him out. He walked up to Barbarius and now Barbarius is planting his ax in the troll's chest. I guess my question is: Do I use the 7 I rolled or do you want me to roll again?

Ahh, got you. okay then. yes. keep the roll of a 7. That will be your first (unmodified) to hit roll.
INITIATIVE:
Sunny 10+3=13
Troll 11
Meylon 9
SF please roll for Bane even if you don't wish to just talk. That way I can keep things in order.

Can Bane say to the troll, "say hello to my little friend"? Yes. It may even make it into this months best lines. If it gets used. Now before we cast this die so to speak I want to discuss this with you both. Please understand ahead of time this is your game and I'll go along with whatever you do no matter the consequences. First off I thought of this all day and well, I don't see this ending well. Meylon's just itching to join in making this a group attack, but more importantly is this definitely in character for Barbarius? Alignment wise it fits to a tee. But what about the situation? Sure, out in the wild Barbarius would walk right up to a troll and lop his head off with out a second thought. But what about here, right now? I remember Barbarius being a lot more...rational then he is right now. What does Barb know? 1. He knows the Troll is the Alchemists manservant. Not bodyguard, slave or tormentor but a manservant another word for butler. 2. The troll is unarmed, non threatening, not even defending himself and we would assume important to the alchemist. 3. The alchemist has information on the Cosmic Knights and again an assumption but probably would be upset at his manservant being attacked in his home without provocation. (see quote later in post) 4. Barbarius has sworn an oath, hell he was the first to demand to find the Cosmic knights and this attack will probably slow that down (by about 6 months to a year of game time if you must know) Now lets look at a player/game stand point. 1. Upset alchemists are the most powerful and dangerous NPC of any game. This is a quote from the rule book, Page 244: "Consequently it is pure folly to try and steal from, trick or attack an Alchemist, especially in his own shop."2. This will make this campaign much harder and much longer though, not impossible. Assuming anyone lives to leave this shop. Now barring all the repercussions this one single act of violence will have on this game, Just think of how this may affect Aiko's, Firebugs, Lilien's, Silverbeard's and Chierinaua's future dealings in the Nexus Point. Remember everything is connected. Are we SURE this is what we want to do? Cast the die? Rewrite post? |
