I know this is a reach, but could Barbarius use his Lore: Demon & Monsters to be able to know Centaur culture?

No stretch at all. That is exactly what the skill is for. Roll away.

Gardrax raised an eyebrow at the objections. "My associates name is Xan Jeriko. As I said he is a scholastic Monk and certainly not a Troll. He's a human who runs a wildlife observatory for me on the other side of these windows before you. He knows the area well and will be your guide in the Ophid's Grasslands if you choose. You'll meet him even if you choose another form of payment as soon as I transport you there. We've been in communication so he is expecting you. He's a pleasant chap though he may be a bit talkative considering he lives alone. Anything else?" So if we are so damned close to the Knights, then why would we need a guide? Sure the Devil's Mark is to the NE but XAN is supposed to know this area and thereby reduce trouble in the area. We don't need him to find the Knights, but he would be helpful. We can leave him but if he dies then we are stuck in the area and must travel on our own. I say the win-win is to bring jabber jaws with us

If we don't that would be stealing and terribly dishonorable. I just don't want to loose his tower.

I'm interested in the wildlife observatory part. Like this is some kind of a zoo or something.
And yes I know we need to bring this guy but the GM was making sound like we were arguing for and against.

No, the arguing I was refering to was for staying and protecting the tower (Barb and Sunny) or taking off in the night and leaving the tower to it's own fate even if it means a long walk home. (Meylon and Bane).

Oh..., I must have missed understood. And Barb realized that centaurs are human tops with horse bottoms. these are the exact opposite with horse tops and human bottoms.

ok I'll skip the obvious. Very old race, dieing out Live in tribes of 40-100 strong. Nomadic Good craftsman but, lack materials hence good to trade with Distrust all but, Elves. Loyal for life 'IF' befriended Cannot survive captivity. Only the most wealthy have metal barding Male dominated society but Woman are often advisors as well as warriors. Magic wielding is rare. Oh and alignments can be any but tend to be principled and Scrupulous beings.

Oh..., I must have missed understood. No worries. While most of your argument did seem to revolve around taking Xan with you or not, you did keep referring to leaving as soon as possible and ignoring the tower as well. I would have commented sooner but, you both had posted back and forth a few times before I read any of them.

I rolled a 89 to spot for an ambush so I guess Barbarius doesn't see shit!

since Bane likely is taller then the most of the centaurs, he should already be rather intimidating. When we arrive for the challenge and the champion's challenge is announced, Bane will wave his polearm and give a battle cry/roar. I figure this show would have everyone focused on Bane so when Barb steps out it would almost be like an element of surprise.
Once the fight starts Bane will take up his bow to ensure this is a fair fight.
