"Carry chain? No. Gaul just need 'nuff for hands and feet. That much not heavy. Gaul not think of lock though. Firebug smart." Gaul continued to grin.
Siff stepped up to Gaul a little flustered. "What..what was all that arguing about if you agreed with Reeks on the length of chain?"
Gaul cocked his head to the side perplexed. "You not see dwarfs face?" and with that the orc broke out in hysterical laughter.

Siff could only shake her head, "so all of this was just to get a raise out of him? You are something else Gaul."
"Wrists and ankles are fine Gaul, but make sure we have extra, just in case okay?" Firebug glanced back at the door to see if he could catch a glimps of Reeks. He needed everyone to be together on this. Infighting, even in jest could prove distracting when hunting a troll. "And Gaul make sure you enough locks for each set of chain."
Firebug stepped outside to look for Reeks. They still needed meat for the troll and from the sound of it Reeks might have enough experience to find just the thing.

The dwarf was standing just outside the shop with arms folded grumbling to himself. Firebug approached cautiously. "Did ye' set him straight Lad? I could kill that green skin sometimes." Reeks barked. Firebug nodded and explained his plight to get some proper food for the needles.
"Take it out of Gaul's hide is what we should do. Serve him right." Reeks continued for a short spell before settling down. "The Inns gonna be our best bet unless you want to go hunting for Jack or Deer. Conies may be possible but deer take too much sittin around to bag. No. Best just be buying whats fresh at the Inn.

"Then why don't we head other there while the ladies finish up the shopping?" Firebug attempted at a joke hoping to get a reaction from Reeks.

The mystic only received a grunt in response.
The two headed to the Travelers Inn for food. There was a high level of activity in the yard. Two coaches, three wagons and a good dozen horses were stabled and people were going every which way. "Ain't gonna be a small town much longer is it lad?" Reeks commented while weaving through all the hustle & bustle.
Entering the establishment didn't lessen the crowded feeling. If anything it was enhanced. The Inn was a bees hive of activity with patrons at every table and coming and going to every room. A minstrel played a mandolin up on a small stage while a young wench walked around collecting coin for the show. The noise level was quite high with conversations all blending together. The oppressive spring heat and humidity could be felt ten fold in the cramped quarters as well. Everyone was sweating and fanning themselves or ordering drinks from the bar. Three serving wenches were hurrying from table to table collecting empty tankards and refilling them. Another was making rounds to those who stood around waiting for a table or just engrossed in conversation. Most of the patrons looked to be either people trying to get work over at the hiring hall or new comers staking claims for gold.

"Reeks, I've been thinking. With all of that chain to carry and that rotted meat to lure the troll out with. It will all be so heavy. What say you that we hire someone to do all the heavy lifting? I think someone that might not be limited by going underground, perhaps another dwarf, for the muscle. I'll talk to the Inn keeper about some "aged" meat." Firebug managed a charming smile as he patted Reeks on the shoulder.

"Well we have that Silverbeard fellow but, if you think we need more muscle I suppose we could hire a henchman or another mercenary over at the hiring hall."
Firebug pondered that. He had almost forgot he had a second dwarf already. He didn't really know Silverbeard though. Maybe he'd still hire some muscle to be on the safe side. Something to think about anyway.
As it turned out the Inn keeper had just the thing. At least Firebug hoped trolls ate horse meat. It seemed that a patrons horse had come up lame and had to be put down. Now the Inn keeper had a dead horse on his hands that he didn't know what to do with. He refused to let it be cut up in fear of losing customers whom may think he was serving horse on the menu. After talking with Firebug The Inn keeper agreed to let the Mystic have the horse at no cost but he had to take the whole horse.
The two companions walked out to the stable and sure enough there in the last stall was a monster of a war horse keeled over on its side stiff as a statue. "By the Lord of Light lad. That fine beast must way a full ton or I'm an elf!" grumbled Reeks.

"What in blazes? This thing is huge. Even if we chopped it up into smaller pieces..., wait a moment. There is that troll that guards the alchemist's shoppe. If trolls eat this then maybe we could uss this to "hire" him. Maybe he could even help us to interrogate the troll from the mines. So, uh, do you know how to cut one of these up?" Firebug could only scratch his head.

"Aye lad. With a mighty big axe! Haha! You be forgetting though Lad that the Inn Keeper was very specific that we cannot be cutting up this fine dead steed. Remember? The whole horse. Any ideas?" Reeks shook his head in dismay. "Wish I studied more in engineering class with me siblings."

Firebug began looking around the stable for anything that might inspire him. He looked for pulleys or even a wagon that hold such a huge animal. Firebug even toyed with the idea of trying to get that troll to move this thing in exchange for some of the meat. But he studied the room in silence as his mind inventoried the room.

It was a twenty stall stable with only three stalls unoccupied by a horse. The Stable was filled with all the basic needs and tack for running a good operation. Bridles, straps, buckles, horse shoes, hay and feed, pitch forks, shovels, various odd looking tools whom use that Firebug could only guess at. It was even equipped with a stable boy who looked at the pair of adventurers.

Firebug looked to the boy and smiled, "son, could you give us a hand? I'm looking for a section of tubing or hose. Would you have something that I might be able to use? It should be long enough to reach this horses stomach."
Elbowing Reeks Firebug nodded, "I have an idea. Remember that potion was found, turned out to be a shrinking potion. I figure that if we can get it into this beast's stomach we might be able to just carry it out of here."

"Thats brilliant lad! How long will it last?" Reeks beamed truely pleased to not have to drag a dead horse through town."
The boy ran off but, quickly retuned with a two foot wooden pole that was hollowed out. He handed it to Firebug with a big grin and sat down cross legged to watch the show.

"Honestly, I don't know. But if it works then we'll have to be quick, just in case. Now give me a hand, we'll have to get the other end of this tube into the horse's stomach. Then I'll pour the potion into the other end and with a bit of luck this should work." Firebug said as he began examining the tube. He wanted to make sure that it wasn't blocked and that the potion would pour easily through it.

The tube was perfectly hollow. It took a bit of Reeks' strength to get it wedged down the beasts throat do to the stiffness that had set in. After about ten minutes the tube was in place and the pair was ready to pour in the vial.
"We need to be quick you say, so you best be tellin' me exactly what the plan is before we do this. Maybe we should gather the others first to save time, eh lad? Maybe give the horse to whomever is fastest." Reeks suggested.
