The constable's office was busy for a small town. People walked this way and that, in and out on every errand imaginable. At the moment no one noticed her so Lilien stayed out of everyones way and just absorbed it all. Apparently there was trouble of all types in these parts. The gnome heard talk of a Giant terrorizing the land with a band of bandits, strange sightings in the local cemetery, river pirates, mention of a smuggling ring, murder and even traitors to the realm. Just then a large, burly human with the darkest ebony complexion she had ever seen walked into the building. He was tall even for humans and looked like some legendary hero going to slay a dragon. He wore a half suit of plate armor that was well kept but, covered in small scratches and dents. He bristled with weapons from wickedly curved daggers, a barbed spear, great sword and battle axe crisscrossing his broad, muscular back and a net neatly tied to a belt hook. His reinforced hide skin boots were taller then Lilien! He strode into the place with purpose. Each step causing vibrations in the floor boards that threatened to rattle the little thief's teeth. He walked straight over to a wall filled with drawings of faces tacked to it. The wall was so full many pictures were covered over by new ones. Many of the drawings had numbers written at the top or bottom of them as well. Wanted posters.

Lilien took a quick look at the wall to see if Silk was on it, she checked for her own picture as well, just in case. Afterall, she wanted to strike up a conversation with this larger than normal human, she new she was in a constables office, but he looked like someone pretty interesting to practice her skills on. Look at all those wonderful weapons, he must have something else of value that was takeable that he wouldn't miss.
OOOOOOHHHHH, but then again. Well, lets just see and ponder for a minute, first. She was here on a task, afterall. mmmmmm, but the fun of steering in a more exciting direction. Lilien decided to take a very quick look at the wall and then decide from there.

There were dozens of drawings resembling humans, orcs, dwarves and every other inteligent race in this part of the world. One thing Lilien did not see was a drawing of herself. Silk however was not so lucky. Way up at the top of the wall (just shy of 8 feet high) was a striking resemblence of the dark elven thief. The depiction had a lop sided grin and her hair was renditioned particularly well. Lilien hoped her wanted poster would look that good if she was ever noticed. She also noted with a rised eyebrow that the bounty on her head was only 50 Timirian Gold Crowns.
The hulking bruiser was looking at much higher stakes from what it looked like from down here.

Of course they would put something that she was looking for up so high there was no way to reach it without making some sort of a scene. Hmmmmmm. What to do? 'Wait,' she thought, 'I could use the big guy standing next to me to accomplish my goal.' She smiled on the inside at what else she might be able to accomplish if the small plan rolling around in her head worked.
She could use this mans shoulders to get at the wanted sign and maybe, if she could go without being noticed while taking that down she could attempt at a little something extra for herself from his pockets on the way down. Of course that would mean him obliging to let her use his shoulders in the first place. Opportunity was definitely knocking.
Lilien choked down excitement, cleared ger throat and said "Excuse me." To the man.

The giant of a man looked down at Lilien with brown eyes that relayed much more intelligence then Lilien would have given credit for such a large brute. All gnomes knew that smaller humanoids were vastly more intelligent then bigger ones.
The giant raised an eye brow and grinned with mirth. "Yes, mi'lady?" he asked in a booming voice that vibrated Lilien's body ever so slightly.

"Well, as you can see I am ever so small. I don't have the greatest eyesight for my kind and some of those pictures way up high, I just can't see from here." Lilien flashed her most innocent looking smile and tried her best to keep a doe look to her eyes, " I was just wondering if you would be so kind as to lift me to your shoulders and get me close enough so I could take a good look at the bounties on the top?"
How she was going to take the picture down once she was up there, she had no clue, but at least this would get her one step closer to her goal and maybe a little extra. She crossed her fingers imaginatively in her head in hopes that this man would cooperate.
She blinked he eyes a couple of times and said, "Please."

The massive man tilted his head to one side and smiled in merriment. "Well little doll, I usually don't let women get that close to my head before I get to know them but, if you'd like to climb this mountain then who am I to say no." The man chuckled slightly in a way that was pleasant.
Before the gnome could even form a reply the giant swooped her up with an amazing show of physical prowess and stood her on his left shoulder. The muscles beneath her soft leather boots felt as hard as granite. She had to put her right hand on his smooth scalp for a second until she gained her balance for he had let go of her upon depositing the thief on her perch. Considering the warrior couldn't hold her with his dinner platter sized hands without touching areas normally considered of limits he was probably attempting to be polite.
"Soo, my miniature bounty hunter, does anyone look like a potential quarry for you?"

"Hmmmmm, I am not quite sure," Lilien stated. "What do you think about this one? He looks like fun to go after, maybe?" While she attempted to get the giant to focus on a different picture other than Silk's, of course, Lilien attempted to take down the massive picture without being noticed. She once again had put the most innocent sound she could on her voice as she made her statement, she was really hoping the massive man would not feel her lightwieght moving in anticipation, her excitement was becoming really hard to contain.

The giant commented on the posters but Lilien really wasn't paying attention. She nimbly pulled Silks likeness off the wall and began folding it into squares with one hand to reduce it's size. Once manageable she easily slipped it in with her belongings. Only then did she return her focus to the giant (was it her imagination or did he smell of Jazmin?).
"... if you require a partner?" The man finished.

"Ummmm, I don't know, normally I work alone, sometimes I make exceptions......" Thank GOODNESS that worked, she thought to herself, " but he is definitely the one I am chosing. Thank you so much for your help kind sir, you have been a wonderful help to a lady in need." She decided she was not going to try to rip this man off, he seemed very nice and there was something about him, despite his enormous size, that she liked. "If you would be so kind as to let me down, please."

"Very nice to meet you, sir, My name is Lilien, and maybe we will cross paths again one day." She allowed her eyes to twinkle just a bit as she smiled and headed out of the constables office back to her next destination.

She made out to meet Silk in the Inn, as was the plan originally. Fortunately the elf actually stuck with the plan this time.
Lilien had pondered about not telling the elf about the poster, it was a small bounty after all, so the elf wasn’t in any real danger. She decided, never mind, the elf might be a useful ally in the future, even if not a reliable one. After being slightly offended at such a small bounty, Silk decided to give the city a try and stay.
With that, Lilien and Silk now headed to the Thieves Guild.

The two women were escorted back to see Goodheart. The Master Thief was delighted to see that Lilien was able to get the fifty gold and bring in the naughty Silk. He ran through the same speach about 25% of any take goes to him and any fencing to be done needs to go through the local jeweler who is friendly to the Guild. After that he wished the ladies good day and sends them on there way.
