Glaivin takes the first watch as he paces back and forth he grumbles to himself.
"Silly elf putting me on mere guard work. I am better then that ..." he grumbles quietly to himself.
Chier and the rest of the party take there much needed rest.

Glaivin kicks Tiy not to gently in the arm. "Time to wake your master, Woody." Once Tiy stirs, the Dwarven priest clomps off to his bedroll.
It must be miserable to be a sour dwarf all the time. Thought Tiy. The wood elven monk stepped into the Paladin's tent and woke him for his watch. Helping Chier with his armor and weapons, Chier mumbled a reply of thanks.
Chier walked outside and did a quick patrol of the perimeter. All seemed safe. The air was warm and wet. Chier would have to get used to all this humidity of the region. He was told that this weather was unusually hot for early spring. To the locals it felt more like early summer. Chier noticed that Tiy didn't go back to sleep. He was busy prepping for break-fast and tending to Chier's mount. He'd make an excellent squire mused the paladin.
Tiy busied himself to stay awake. His master was awake and so Tiy would stay awake as well. It was just how things were.

Chier noticing that tiy did not go back to sleep kept one eye on him for quite some time before heading over to him and asking.
"tiy get some sleep it will be dawn b4 long. Or is there somethign on you mind that is too pressing."

"No master. I sleep when you sleep. That is just...how it should be." Replied the humble monk. "Watch over us my Lord. I will prepare the camp for breakfast and an early departure. I would think we should like to reach the ship with as much day light as passable. I for one would not like to be on a shipwreck at night." With that Tiy continued about his duties.

The Paladin continued watching over his flock, but no evils arrose to challange him. With a quick prayer to his Lord at day break and breaking fast, the small band continued on their journey to the shipwreck. A few hours later a woman could be heard screaming from a small thicket near the river up ahead. The party can not see her from this angle.

As Chier and his flock emerge through the thicket (light woods) they discover NOT the shipwreck but a lone peasant woman. She is calling to what appears to be a small child near the far side of the river. The child looks unconscious and is tangled in the branches of a small dead tree laying halfway in the water. The woman looks around franticly and spots you.
"MY LORD! MY LORD! Please help my son! He is hurt and stuck there in that felled tree branch. He does not call back to me and I can not swim!"
Before Chier can even respond to the frantic mother Tiy grabs the rains of his horse to gain the paladins attention. "My Lord Chiereneua! Look over yonder! A Timiro Tiger!"
Sure enough, only a dozen yards away from the boy on the far side of the river is a stalking Tiger edging ever closer. Soon it will pounce. A quick glance from the Paladin reveals that the river is crossable here by swimmers or...horse.

Chier tells Maverick
"Shoot that tiger before he pounces."
Chier starts out at a gallop towards the boy to pick him up out of danger.

Maverick lets an arrow fly just as Chier begins his run. The arrow grazes the Tigers thick skull startling it. (2 hp) Looking toward Maverick the Tiger sees Chier on his horse instead. The Tiger leaps at Chiers Horse just as it clears the water.

Chiereneua has to think fast and takes his sword and swings at the tiger just as it comes in to reach.

Chier's mastery of horse combat allows him to draw and strike a blow to the tiger before the cat pounces on the horse. (22 hp). The blade cuts a shallow line into the tigers flank and it rears back. A razor sharp claw swipes at Chier. With his shield arm holding the reins and not quick enough to evade the paw, Chier trusts in his armor to absorb the blow. Sure enough the claw rakes scales from his thigh, leaving a ragged hole in his armor but the Paladin remains uninjured. (19 SDC). Bringing his well made Kobald Long sword down for another sweeping attack he again cuts the big cat. (16 hp). At the same time another arrow strikes the tiger in its hind quarters. (6 hp). This seams to startle the beast enough for it to break off and scamper into the tall grass.

Chiereneua quickly grabs the boy up from the water and takes him to the lady and asks. "Will you be safe here or is there some place my companions and I can take you?" Chier asks with a heavy breath from the small battle that he had just finished.

"We have a small village just up ahead. You could escort us if you wish My Lord. Thank you so much for saving my son Phimmo. He is everything to me. The Lord of Light is watching over me today."
