Everything looks good to me, let the battle resume.

The bolt was a direct hit. The troll's eye brows and patchy facial hair were singed off and the troll staggered as he recoiled while slapping at the magical green flames. The fire died quickly however and the troll still managed to get off a swing with his great hammer at the outmatched Gaul. Luckily with the distraction Gaul was able to leap out of the way and the hammer smacked into the bars of the captives prison. Two of the bars bent horribly out of place but, not enough to help the trapped heroes. Reeks cut loose with his crossbow and planted a bolt into the smugglers meaty thigh. With any luck the poison would take hold before Gaul became a smear of blood on the wall or floor.

Firebug readied himself to cast another firebolt. Reeks hurried to reload another posion tipped bolt. Siff stood ready to thrust her spear through the gate should the troll come within range. Gaul ran around to prevent the troll from getting a clear shot on him.
Further down the tunnel Silverbeard lumbers along hauling a chunk of horse meat when he neared the passage where Gaul ran for his life and the others could only watch, "I ain't not a man servant to fetch things for this lot." He continued to mutter as he plotted along.

Firebug casts another bolt of green fire further injuring the Troll. Gaul uses the distraction to give the beast a good whack on the knee but the Troll failed to even feel it. Reeks pluged another bolt into the troll this time in the shoulder and Siff appeared to scared to do anything but stand there holding her spear. 9failed Horror again). The troll finally began showing effects from the drugs in its system and toppled over backwards right onto Gaul, pinning him against the floor.

"Silverbeard!" Firebug screamed. He banged his fist on the steel gate, "where in blazes is that dwarf?"
Turning to look at Reeks and Siff, "we need to get this gate open before that potion wears off. If he wakes up, being pinned is the least of Gauls' worries. Hang on Gaul, we're coming!"
Firebug scanned the cave. If they can't break the gate down, maybe they move it enough to get free. "Reeks, you and I will try to lift the gate using the rope. Siff, you will need to pry the gate up, and as it rises, secure it with anything you can find to keep it open. Together, we should be able to lift it enough to slip out. We could sure use that Silverbeard's help."

Siff grabs the makeshift table but the mining cart is to heavy for her. She settles for a pick axe that looks sturdy. The mystic and mercenary put all their might into raising the gate but it's just to heavy. Firebug wasn't used to using brute strength. They really needed either Gaul or Silverbeard.

"This is impossible." Firebug closed his eyes and reached out again for Silverbeard's mind, "we need you, hurry."
"When Silverbeard gets here, if he can free Gaul, they will be able to help us. I hope." Firebug felt for his totem around his neck. This is bad and if the ogre should wake up before being chained, well, things would go from bad to worse in a heartbeat. Give me strength.

Gaul struggled to free himself but, he was stuck tight. The troll lay motionless atop of him. Just a huge pile of dead weight.
(ooc) go ahead and have Silverbeard arrive on scene.

Silverbeard continued mumbling angerly to himself as he dragged the rotting chuck of horse meat behind him. "Who do they think they are? Go get this, go get that. They don't know who they're dealing w...,"
He paused as he rounded the corner and found reminents of the great troll battle. Three of the folks were trapped behind some sort of home made portcullas and that nasty orc seemed pinned under a troll. And the troll seemed to be sleeping.
"Silverbeard, help Gaul. We don't have much time before the troll will again awaken. Please hurry and restrain the troll, then the two of you will need to help us get free." Firebug couln't believe that he was almost pleading with this dwarf. Why did he even bring him with in the first place? He seemed to get lost and then was no where to be found when he was needed. Firebug began thinking of nasty things to do to him.
Silverbeard dropped the horse meat and moved with no specific urgency to free Gaul. "Gaul, if you still have your chain, use it on the troll's wrists and ankles." Instructed Firebug, "when he wakes, he will not be happy, and you wont want him getting loose."

Firebug's plan worked wonderfully. The troll was trussed up, Gaul was excavated and the rest of the party were released from the makeshift cell. Only then did the troll begin to wake from his stupor.

As the troll opened his eyes and tried to focus, Firebug and the group stood before him in a semi circle.
"Tell us what you know about the weapon smuggling." Firebug spoke with a roar in his voice. Without looking away he spoke to the group, "it's about to get very ugly, anyone with a weak stomach will want to leave."
"I want the bounty on this one's head, I'll not be leaving mate." Said Silverbeard with a glean in his eye.
"This ends here lad. Spill your guts or we will spill them for you." snarled Reeks.
Still aching from catching the troll, Gaul crept a few steps closer and in a gutteral growl, "now it Gaul turn."
Firebug couldn't be certain if this troll even spoke the language with which they were addressing him, but he had to hope some of it was making it through. "Start with the feet. If he refuses to answer our questions, we cut off a toe." He hoped this troll understood what he was saying. Just to be safe Firebug used his telepathy to scan the troll's thoughts. He would be able to tell if the troll understood them or not based on his thoughts.

"Isn't there any other way?" Siff pleads. She seems a bit uncomfortable.

Firebug shoots her a wink, "no, we have to do this if we are to be certain to end this weapon smuggling. We will learn what we no matter how many days it might take." Turning to Reeks, "see if you can find some more of that scrap wire, we can use it to severe his fingers at the joints."
Firebug turned his mind back to the troll and listened for his thoughts, was he getting through to him. He was hoping that this bluff would work on the troll but it seems that it's working on the group instead. He dared not tip his hand but he also knew that the group would likely not go all the way with what he was proposing.

The trolls surface thoughts were not needed as the troll almost immediately began to speak in a gutteral southern. "You are too late human. You only prevented the delivery of the final shipment. Soon your pathetic race will be extinguished from the land you call Timiro.Hahaha!"

A smile crept across Firebug's face, "I don't think you understand your situation. I already know about the final shipment. I want to know about some of your friends. I want to know about who you work for. But don't worry, we have all the time in the world should you be feeling shy. In the end, you will tell me this and much more."
