For any interested parties out there, it seems that my wife last Saturday bought Pirates: At Ocean's Edge Constructible Strategy Game and wants to play. She wants me to figure out the rules. Is anyone familiar with this game?

I have 3 constructible games but not that one. Most of the rules tend to be so vague as to be open to your interpretation. It prob. has a tutorial on its website. Check that out.

I am not sure yet because I haven't even looked at it yet, but I believe you make little card ships and battle them. Faithnhope97 looked it up line and she couldn't access it. Do you like these games, GamesMaster?

Yes I play them often. Tell me is this Pirates from the movies or is it just called Pirates at the edge? I play a customizable Stratagy Game called Pirates. It has had about 7 or 8 different sets come out. The one you mention could be the latest edition. Open up a pack and describe one of the ships stats or better yet.....maybe I can find a pic.
These kind of games make great pick up games. People play them inbetween card games like Magic or Pokimon when it is not there turn during tournaments and stuff.

Wow. Ok. I know all there is to know about that game. Hehehe. Its fun, its fast (most of the time) and easy. It is vague though were the rules are concerned but every pack comes with an instruction manual in side. Pablo could figure out the basics if he wanted to.

I must be completely out of it, what is a constructible game? A constructible game is sold like card games. They come in packs for 3-5 bucks each and you get common, uncommon and rare cards. In every pack are ships or figures depending on the game that are printed on plasticard cutouts. These can be punched out to build your ships. I have one for Transformers, Pirates and StarWars. The ships or figures have point costs. you set a predetermined game value such as 40 points and build your fleet. then you play Pirates objective is to either sink the other players ships or collect the most gold from islands to win. There are forts, sea monsters, submarines, and ships ranging from 1-10 masts each. Transformers.....sucks. In a nut shell the game is rock, paper, scissors. The figures are cool though. Starwars is a little different in that there are playing cards as well as ships. You fight with the space ships but your cards change every aspect of the game.

Pablo isn't the only one playing though faithnhope97 got it and she wants me to play too. It looks cool. I guess I will have to look the rules over. Do you think this game will be compatible with yours?

Oh, yes. It is the same game. You just have the latest set to come out. I have been collecting since the beginning 'Pirates of the Spanish Main' I have collected fewer and fewer packs from each new set because....well how many little pirate ships do you really need? I play with two of my Brother in Laws and one of their girl friends as well as another guy, so between us we have...a LOT of ships. We have so many that we all have our favorite faction and stick to them exclusively. One plays French One plays generic Pirate fleets One plays the Spanish I play the British. I have...48 ships, 2 british forts and a shark. There are many other factions including Vikings, Chinese, Dutch etc. but the ones above have been around from the beginning. Every new set adds rules and a new faction. Its a lot of fun, but it is BASIC.

Heck yeah. I even have little 3d islands all painted up. They look cool. Heck I even sent my entire American Fleet to Chier months ago to try out but he thought it was a card game I was sending. I don't know what he's done with the ships.
