INN:
Barbarius gazes into Lady Marrissa's eyes, smiling broader. He could feel her tension ease. Some assholes began to call her so Barbarius simply looked at the biggest one and gave him "the look." Generally, in this stage of Barbarius' career, these fools leave it alone after that and maybe this eyepiece will help in those matters. Barbarius turns his attention back to Marrissa and drinks a little more. He drifts his hands down to her lower back, using them to take out the knots in her muscles," YES I'M PAYIN' ATTENTION! ARE YOU?," Barbarius explains," THE BOOK! SHOW US THE BOOK!" Barbarius smiles at Lady Marrissa so she knows he isn't mad at her, but sunny on the other hand. *sigh*

THE INN:
"Thats...thats ummm." Marrissa's eyes closed for a second or two. She seemed to be enjoying the back rub. Snapping them back open she had discovered what she was looking for in her satchel. Looking the dwarf in his normal eye she grinned. "I think you'll appreciate this. She set a pewter tankard before her on the table and poured the last remains of her ale into it. She downed it in one gulp.
"Oh no, here she goes again." Miguel whined but more mockingly then truly upset.
Merrissa looked around mischievously and then made sure Barbarius was looking at the tankard.
"Fill." she commanded and the tankard filled itself from the bottom to the top with fresh ale. Looking again at Barbarius she explained "It magically fills with whatever was last within whether wine, water or ale. I need never pay for a drink unless I choose." she giggled though it sounded more like a snort do to her voice.
Meanwhile Sunny was barking in a huff. "What do you mean show the book? You think I have it? Bane has it at the Alchemist shop along with the elf. Don't you remember?"

THE ALCHEMIST:
"Is this true young Lady?" Gardrax asked Meylon.
"Tis true my lord. We seek only to return the artifacts to his people as he commanded. We know not where to find them or what follows us." Not entirely true, but hopefully enough to not have to elaborate further.
"Those you seek travel many a world protecting the multiverse from evil. I know not what follows you, but it will not be pleasant and most likely not of this world. Are you truly willing to take on such a journey?"
Both companions nodded simultaneously.
"Very well then. There is rumored to be a Cosmic Knight outpost on this very world. It is far to the North in the Land of the Damned. I know not exactly where but I know of one who may. I may be persuaded to help you get a head start on your journey in order to gain ground on your pursuers. I'll need an hour to prepare." Gardrax turned from the two adventurers as if dismissed but then called out over his shoulder. "I'll want to be seeing all these artifacts as well. Bring them all in an hours time."

Bane and Meylon glanced at each other then could only watch as the alchemicst disappeared through a distant door. They stood in silence for a long moment then Bane spoke off handedly, "do you remember how to get out of here?" Bane looked back to Meylon and laughed weakly, "we should try to find our way back through this insane magical building. Then we will need to find Sonny and that cycloptic dwarf and have everyone back here in an hours time. We'd better get started. I almost wish that troll was here, he at least seemed to know his way around in here."

Just then the magical circle the two stood in flared up. The two found themselves in the shops entryway with the Troll standing arms crossed before them.
"Look lively kiddies. Your gear is on the counter. We'll see you in an hour. Don't be late!"

After recovering their gear the two moved quickly from the strange shoppe. Being overly cautious, Bane checked his pack for the book. With all the magical trickery within those four walls, anything seemed possible.
Once back on the street Bane again pulled up his hood to cover his face, "Meylon, where would Sonny have gone to to meet these people of her's?"

THE INN:
Barbarius took in a big gulp as she showed him the magic of her tankard. His eyes go wide when he sees what it does. He rubs the back of her neck," You are a most marvelous woman," Barbarius explains. He takes another drink, but quickly spits it out in a spray all over the woman he just complimented," ARE YOU KIDDING ME SUNNY?" Barbarius was now looking at Sunny,"WHY? YOU DIDN'T TAKE COMMAND OF THE BOOK?" Barbarius stands up, wipes Lady Marrissa off and kisses her gently on the cheek," Sorry about that luv." Barbarius grabs his axe and looks at Sunny," Come on. We're going. We got to get that book before Melons tries to sell it!"

THE INN:
"Hold my friend. Hold!" Sunny made sure he had the Slayers attention before continuing. "If you insist then lead on, but do not fret over Meylon. She will keep to her word." Sunny tossed a coin purse to a passing wench and the group left the Inn. Marrissa stayed close to Barbarius to his merriment.
THE ALCHEMIST:
Meylon had no time to comment as half way to the Inn a troop of people with Barbarius at its head came there way. The dwarf did not look happy. "Err, Bane? Would you mind doing the talking? I have a feeling I'm not exactly trusted yet. Unless of course you think they just declared war on Wolfen."

"That's just it, you I trust Sunny, but..." Barbarius stops mid sentence. Maybe it was the eye, but Barbarius was immediately drawn to his two "other" comrades. Barbarius storms over to the elf and wolfen," ALRIGHT YOU TWO, HAND IT OVER!"

"BACK OFF SPECTICLES!" Roared Bane. If he wouldn't be talked to by that infuriating troll like that, then he wasn't going to take it from this sawed off stump of a ditch digger. "I assume you refer to the tome. Well it is perfectly safe, with me. I swore it's safe return to the knights and so I shall see it made so. Now if you are finished with your drunken rant, the alchemist has agreed to examine our new equipment within the hour. And by the way, we have so far said nothing about the tome, let's try to keep that going shall we."

"Settle DOWN! Both of you!" Sunny Commanded. "I am the leader in this quest and while you three can all hate eachother to the grave for all I care you will will keep it in check or you'll answer to me. While I value your concern and dedication to this adventure Barbarius, Meylon has obviously kept her word and not betrayed us. I trust her enough to be part of this group and that is that. As for Bane bearing the burden of the book I will vouch for his honor and abide by his decision to do so though I would hope and insist that Bane will share that burden with the rest of us if need be as Barbarius is so inclined. We're in this together with unimaginable horrors on our tail. We have no time for needless arguments. "
"Now I suggest, and by suggest I mean command, that we go see this Alchemist and figure out this odd gear. After that we will make haste out of town and decide where best to search for these mysterious knights. Agreed?" Sunny didn't wait for a response but, marched off in the direction of the Nexus Point with his followers in tow. Bane, Meylon and Barbarius were left standing in a rough triangle staring at eachother.
Meylon, after receiving a verbal thrashing even though she had remained silent, knew the paladin spoke the truth. Now that she had committed herself to this adventure she needed to be able to trust these two with her life to get through this.
"Well fellows. I can't promise not to bicker with you, but I want you to know you can count on my blades in a fight. I won't stab you in the back at the first opportunity. Lets get this tome to these knights and be on our separate ways."

Bane spun around on his heel and stomped off, following the rest back towards the alchemist leaving Barbarius alone with Meylon.

Meylon watched Bane storm off. Then turned to the dwarf.
"Guess thats Wolfen for agreed eh?"

"NO!" Barbarius bellows," I DON'T AGREE! Number 1: I never agreed you taking the book to the Alchemist! 2: If YOU are the leader, SUNNY, then you should carry the book! 3: I am not going anywhere until I believe this book is safe, so that means it needs to be in YOUR possession, SUNNY! SO BEFORE YOU GET TOO FAR PUP, YOU NEED TO GIVE THE BOOK TO SUNNY! Barbarius tightens the grip on his axe and gets into a combat ready stance. He is not going to back down from this one," Now, if it's a fight you want, I don't care, I have nothing to loose." A sick grin spreads upon the dwarf's face.

Bane stopped in the street and glanced over his shoulder, "if Sunny is confident in my ability to safe guard this tome then you can pass out safely in the knowledge that I will. None shall have this tome save for the knights. Not the alchemist and not you. If you wish to swing your axe then swing it at whatever killed that knight. Now are you coming to discover what the knight has gifted us with?"
Not waiting for an answer Bane turned and continued back toward the alchemist.
