THE INN:
"Alas my Clan lost our hold centuries ago to green skins. I grew up along side humans in the Eastern Territories. I never knew the joy of living in the stone of a mountain." the youngling stated dowerly. He took a gulp from his tankard and peered at Barbarius with obvious wonder. "So what Sunny said is true then? You are a Slayer looking to regain your honor? I have never met a Slayer before."

THE ALCHEMIST:
Meylon gave bane a wry grin. "Lucky for you I have given my word of honor to this fool quest, so though it would please me to sell this book and be done with it I happen to agree with you. The less people who know of the book the better. An Alchemist may be the last person we should confide in. They horde rare stuff like that book and all the ones I have met have been greedy and some down right evil. Lets probe him about this strange gear and I'll let you decide if we should discuss anything else. Deal?"
Before Bane had a chance to respond the Troll was back and barking in a booming voice. "The Master will see you now but, it will cost you 500 crowns just for an audiance. Leave your weapons with me."
This seemed to be too much for Banes diminuative new friend. Apparently he was discovering she was rather hot tempered.
"I will NOT leave Death Kiss with a Troll!"
The troll sneared back. "Then turn around and leave you little pixie." This was the first time the troll had actually seemed irritated to Bane. If they both lost their calm...

THE ALCHEMIST:
Killing the troll, while most enjoyable, would do little to help their cause. Though diplomacy had at least gotten them an impromptu audience with the alchemist, diplomacy didn't seem to get them past the troll. So Bane decided that since the troll seemed reluctant to confront him, he would try to use that to his advantage.
Bane pushed between Meylon and the troll, and loomed over troll with his jaws agape. It was hot and he had been panting so lines of glistening drool threaded down either side of his jaw. In his own booming voice Bane snapped back at the troll while trying his best to look intimidating, "you will NEVER speak to my mistress in that tone! Do you understand me?! Take us to your master NOW!"

"Bah! It's nothin'," Barbarius changes the subject," You come with me when this is all over( Barbarius points at his Mohawk) and I will show you life in the mighty kingdom within the Gray Mountains. That is my home," Barbarius says with a proud tone. Barbarius takes another large swig from the tankard and looks at Carrius," So Carrius, is it?" Barbarius inquires," You're a little old for a squire ain't cha?"

The man sneered and shrugged in disgust. "I was just tired of being...a farmer. Thought becoming a Knight was more worthy. I'm thankful to have Sunny as my Liege Lord and Mentor." He sounded a bit rehearsed and not altogether honest to Barbarius. Carrius deffinatly didn't seem the type to be following Sunny. That didn't make him a bad person persay...

Barbarius smiled. He thought this guy was a joke. Barbarius took another gulp and looked at the other man of the group," Miguel!" He blurts out along with a mighty belch,"Er.. excuse me. Torchbearer? What is your story halfling?"

The halfling blushed as he was singled out. "Well, I ahh, about a month ago I saw Sunny here giving a speech in my town. I had heard of him but never expected to see him. I had a compulsion to follow him and to my surprise he hasn't turned me away."
"He helps out when he can, don't you Miguel?" Sunny encouraged.
"Yes Sunny and I'm so grateful."

THE INN:
Barbarius raises his tankard," I TOAST TO YOU MIGUEL!" Barbarius begins as he rises to his feet,"MAY THE HAIR ON YOUR FEET GROW LONG AND BUSHY AND MAY YOUR DEATH BE QUICK AND PAINLESS!" Barbarius finishes the rest of ale and slams the tankard down on the table with a loud thud. " I'M DRY WENCH!" Barbarius yells not really looking at anyone, then turns to Lady Marrissa," You know any Dwarfen drinking songs, Marcia?"

THE INN:
"Honestly? Aye I know a few. They all be on the vulgar side as I'm sure you know." The Bards voice was gravelly and deep not unlike a female dwarfs, probably from smoking hobbit leaf. Without being asked she unslung her mandolin and began to strum as more ale was brought to the table. To the Slayers surprise her singing voice while deep lacked all the gruffness and was smooth as could be. Barbarius even recognized the tune she played called the LUSTY YOUNG SMITH.
A lusty young smith at his vise stood a filing, His hammer laid by but his forge still aglow, When to him a buxom young damsel came smiling and asked if to work at her forge he would go.
With a jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle,
With a jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle, hi ho!
"I will," said the smith, and they went off together Along to the young damsel's forge they did go, They stripped to go to it, 'twas hot work and hot weather; She kindled a fire and she soon made him blow.
With a jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle,
With a jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle, hi ho!
Her Husband, she said, no good work could afford her; His strength and his tools were worn out long ago. The smith said, "Well mine are in very good order, And now I am ready my skill for to show
With a jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle,
With a jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle, hi ho!
Red hot grew his iron, as both did desire and he was to wise not too strike while 'twas so. Quoth she, "What I get, I get out of the fire, Then prithee, strike hard and redouble the blow."
With a jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle,
With a jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle, hi ho!
Six times did his iron, by vigorous heating Grow soft in the forge in a minute or so, And often was hardened, still beating and beating, But each time it softened it hardened more slow.
With a jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle,
With a jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle, hi ho!
The smith then would go; quoth the dame, full of sorrow, "Oh, what would I give, could my husband do so! Good lad, with your hammer come hither tomorrow But, pray, can't you use it one more, ere you go?"
With a jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle,
With a jingle, bang jingle, bang jingle, hi ho!

THE ALCHEMIST:
The Troll looked at Bane stunned by the outburst. After what seemed like an eternity the Troll barked out laughing and slapped Bane on the shoulder. "I like you pup! You've got balls! Follow me, just leave your weapons on the table there." He stated while pointing. The troll turned his back to the two companions to head up a flight of stairs. For whatever reason, Meylon seemed to except this and layed a small cache of weapons on the table. Daggers, a short sword, long sword, a half dozen throwing blades and even a few bottles.
After removing his own weapons the two followed the troll up the stairs and down a half dozen hallways and side passages. The group passed three huge galleries, a dinning room and a library. All overlooked grand vistas of terrain that were not the town of Garrotten. Snow covered mountains, water falls, Jungles and deserts all seemed to be right outside the Nexus Point windows. Finally the group came to a large room the size of the Wolfen Imperial cities Gladiatorial arena. The walls were covered in silver runes while the floor was decorated with a mosaic made up of hundreds of circular patterns filled with symbols and designs. No two looked alike. The center of the room was filled by a fifty foot radius and twelve foot high bronze bowl filled with a swirling blue liquid that emanated a yellow vapor into the air. An ancient elven man in a blood red robe covered in mystical symbols stood on a dais that rose from the floor and had an overhang that protruded over the lip of the bowl. He chanted in an unfamiliar tongue while moving his hands about over the bowl. The vapor dissipated and the elf stopped his chanting.
"Wait in that circle there and do not leave it until my Master bids it. Do you understand?"
Nodding the two companions reluctantly stepped into the circle with hesitation. Once fully inside the runic symbols and circle itself began to glow a silver white.
Stepping down from the dais on a stairway out of view from Bane the Alchemist approached the two adventurers. He did not look happy.
"What dire reason do you have to disturb my ritual?" Gardrax's voice was soft yet firm.

Halfway through the song Barbarius sang along. This is the happiest Sunny has ever seen the dwarf. When the Lady Marrissa finishes her fine performance Barbarius leaps to her, puts his large, callused hands around her petite waist, lifts her a good foot off the ground and smiles the broadest grin," OOOO Marcia, a song like that does somethin' to someone like me," he bemuses as he places her back on the ground. He doesn't let her go until she has her footing," Come sit with me. Have an ale" He leads her back to the table. He is loving and gentle, but his Strength won't let her resist( if she does). He pulls a stool out for her, dusts it off, raises a large hand into the air, gives off 3 loud snaps of his fingers and helps her down. Those snaps were for drinks for the lady, Barbarius was paying. He sits down next to Lady Marrissa and smiles, looking deeply into her eyes. "SO, SUNNY! Barbarius begins, still not looking away from his new "friend," NOW THAT WE GOT YER CREW TOGETHER, WHEN ARE WE GONNA GET THIS BOOK TO IT RIGHTFUL OWNERS?"

"Good to see you in high spirits Master Slayer. Looks like you've made a friend my Lady." Sunny laughed musicly as was his way. The others had mixed reactions to Barbarius not that he noticed.
The Lady Marrissa looked a bit uncomfortable with so much attention.
Another round of ales and beers came, Sunny drank some wine before responding to Barbarius' question."Well I say we'll wait here till our companions return. Then we'll head off looking for these knights. If Bane and Meylon don't find out anything then we'll head to the Libraries of Lictolon or maybe the Isle of the Cyclops. There we may find some reference to this mysterious Order of knights.

Barbarius, seeing Lady Marrissa's discomfort flashes her a comforting smile. As Sunny spoke Barbarius put his strong hand on her shoulder and began to rub. Gentle yet firm, he let himself ease down to the center and rubbed circles in her back. Still not turning away from her eyes," SO LET'S HAVE A LOOK AT IT SUNNY!" He smiles at her once more, licking his lips, he uses his free hand to take another drink.

"Have a look? Are you even paying attention? Look at what?" Sunny seemed almost perturbed at the question.
A wench brought yet another round of ale and wine while some of the other patrons began shouting requests Marrissa's way. She politely declined and began fumbling around in her shoulder satchel.

THE ALCHEMIST:
Bane looked to Meylon then back to the alchemist and was the first to speak, "You are Gardrax then? I prey that you will forgive our impatience to have your audience. However, we have found ourselves somehow envolved with a matter of the Cosmic Knights. We found a wounded knight that identified himself as a Cosmic Knight before finally dying from his injuries. Late me add that the nature of the injures were like nothing I have ever seen, neither blade nor claw. In his passing his equipment passed to us and some of our other travel companions before his body simply evaporated. We believe that whatever did kill him is also on its way to this town. It is possibly following us by the magical equipment he bestowed to us. We need your wisdom to understand the Cosmic Knights, this new equipment that we have been given, and what would have killed and even followed this knight to our world."
Bane did his best to avoid mentioning the book. He wanted to test the waters with this human before revealing that he possessed a possibly powerful tome of ancient knowledge.
