Einhard calmly shows his empty hands to the bandit who had his dagger on the neck of the woman. What is your name? Einhard glances back at Tidbit. With slow, deliberate movement, he signs for the gnome to get down. Then he returns his focus on the bandit, waiting for an answer.

Tidbit obays imediately though it's obvious he's not happy about it.
The bandit mouths off to Einhard. "Just back off knight! I'm not hangin' fer no one! You too soldier boy! Stay put or I'll cut 'er!" The girl sqeeled at this and the sergeant just stammered. The bandit started backing up slowly but had to look over his shoulder to see where to go.

"Damn right! Firebrand doesn't pay me enough to be brave, Knight!"
The sergeant finally steps forward. Just a step. "Best let him go friend. He won't get far on foot." he states to Einhard. "Why don't you let the lady go Trevin." The bandit just barks a laugh as he continues toward a side door. By now the rest of the patrons are getting out of the way of the confrontation.

At the door Trevin ran into two of the other soldiers ordered to cover this exit. Startled Trevin makes a break for it ignoring Einhard's request. At full tilt re runs for the Inn's courtyard wall. It's 30 feet away and twenty high. Neither of the soldiers have crossbows both being armed with polearms and sword. The woman falls to the ground and one of the soldiers gives her a hand. Gray and Tidbit are right behind the Palladin.

"Yes, my Lord. I'm fine. Just a nick." her voice quavered from her frightening experience.
Gray unloosed his bow and nocked an arrow in an eye blink. He took aim as the bandit reached the wall and began scrambling up it. He didn't fire however as if waiting for a command.

Good m' lady, with barely so much as a change in tone, Injure his left shoulder. If that doesn't stop him, shoot out his right knee. Einhard smiles at the woman. I am so sorry you had to go through this, He bows Please, if there is anything I could do for you, let me know.

Gray let loose and a moment later the bandit was rolling on the ground in pain from a shoulder wound.
"Thank you my Lord. May the Lord of Light bless you and your man." the lady responded.
By now the soldiers were well on top of things with bandit in hand. The sergeant greeted Einhard and Gray. "Good work lads! That's one less of Firebrands scum to worry about."

"Really?" Friedrick blurts out as he approaches the scene. "I leave to help with the mounts and I miss all the fun?" he seems genuinely put out.
"That ain't nothing lad. I was right here the whole time and I still missed out!" Tidbit countered.
"Well at least you got a drink out of it master tumbler." Indeed Tidbit still carried his mug from the Inn.
Gray just chuckled softly and pulled his arrow out of the bandits shoulder. The man produced a stiffled cry and almost collapsed.
The sergeant smiled at Einhard's offer. "Well Sire, considering it was your man there that stoped the brigand, you are entitled to his bounty if you'll have it. You only have to escort this fellow to the Constibles office over yonder, down the road. If your busy however, then my men and I will take it from here. Much abliged from me and my men."
