Orophin walked into Garrotten. It had been decades since she had been here and not much had changed. Or had it. She couldn't quite put her finger on it. The castle was completely built now, but she had expected that. Jhessil still had his shoppe that she used to steel sweet meats from. The hiring Hall that she had so many imaginary adventures about was right where it had always been. Even the people, the people! That was it. Garrotten was so busy. Teaming with people. Now that she looked closer, there were more buildings and hovels clustered within the towns outer limits then she remembered. More dwarfs marching up and down the roads. The city watch had grown in size as well as the thieves. Yes there was one now. A child pick pocket she was sure. The little boy was scanning the crowd with an experienced eye.

Orophin moves herself into the boy's line of sight. She makes sure she is presentable, where the boy had to see her. For a brief moment she looks about the crowd herself. She scans the crowd as if she's looking for somebody and then she looks at the boy. She locks her deep violet eyes with his and smiles. It is a pleasant smile, like when a mother greets a child, but she quickly continues her scan. At some point, as she looks away from him she pouts. "Oh I can't find my person." She now puts on sad face and looks about the crowd. She flashes another glance at the boy with a lost look on her face, but becomes quickly engaged when she bumps into a dwarf. This would have been the perfect distraction for picking the dwarf's pocket, but she instead uses it to accentuate her mock confusion. Excuse me. I am so sorry, master Dwarf. She meekly apologies as she corrects herself.

When Orophin turned around after pardoning herself from the dwarf she was confronted not by just the boy, but three grubby looking human children. She had forgotten that the urchins tended to work in groups. The original boy appeared to be the leader though. "Excuse us milady. Are you lost? For a coin we'll guide you where ever you want to go. We know this town better then anyone we do."

Orophin smiles and gasps at the sight of these boys. She looks deeply into the eyes of each boy, allowing only moments for them to gaze into them. Oh my. Yes I could use some guidance. What are your names, sweeties?

The lead boy spoke for the others. "That's Kimble and she's Tin. I'm Mullins at your service."
Orophin was startled to discover the ragamuffin with stringy black/brown hair and covered in dirt was a girl, but she was a street rat after all. The Light Bender's eyes began to water from the stench of the urchins at such close proximity.

Kimble, Tin and Mullins. Orophin fights the urge to show any discomfort of their odor. She doesn't want to offend. Yes, Well I am new about here. Where do I start? She's lying of course, but playing it like a woman in distress.

I am looking for a mysterious entity known as Gardrex the Great. Have you heard of him? Now it is time for Orophin to enjoy herself. These children needed a lesson in their duties and she was willing to teach them.

The children looked...nervous. "Ahh, aye, we heard of 'em." the leader replied. "He doesn't like kids that much, but, ahh, I'll show you where he lives." He waved the other urchins away and they trotted off for parts unknown. "This way milady."

Orophin hesitates. She fumbles with her satchel, distracting the boy as she casts her spell and positioning herself for her deception. Within her satchel she has a variety of bobbles and stones, of no particular use other than show. She positions a stone as she looks within, Oh, let me see...Mullins...
Fumbling about she drops her satchel. Only the stone she positioned seems to roll out. Oh dear! She exclaims in frustration. She quickly grabs the shiny stone, looking nervously about. Mullins be a dear and hand me my satchel. Her voice is soothing and sweet.
The stone in her hand was a dark, metallic, smooth stone that resembles a hematite. The stone did seem unusual, since it had an almost deep purple luster, but in reality it was a simple trick of the light. Orophin looks at it for a moment, long enough for Mullins to get a good look and then places it in her palm, clutching it tightly with her fingers, so it is hidden. She takes her satchel from the boy, Thank you, Mullins. She gives him a soft, pleasing smile, to comfort him, but also to show a feigned embarrassment.

Yes it is and I believe it is magic too. Orophin explains with a slight innocent tone.

Orophin looks around, looking at some passerbys to make it look good. She spots a place away from the major walk where she could talk privately. She takes Mullins' hand and takes him to the spot and smiles. Trust me when I say, this stone has brought me nothing but the best fortune. I mean look at you.

The boy Mullins subconsciously licks his lips and eyes the stone hungrily. "It's...it's some kind of luck stone then?"
